Exeter Chiefs U13s 24
North Okes U13s 26
ON a bright and sunny morning North Okes travelled to Sandy Park for a very physical game.
North Okes' Giles Heard opened the scoring with a good break through the centre which caught the opposition on the back foot.
Exeter Chiefs then scored a try in response but failed to convert.
In the remainder of the first half North Okes continued to dominate using the extra width on the pitch with good effect.
Josh Bickley, Ryan Lee and Daniel Squire ran some good angles and had some good runs. These culminated in tries for Kieran Lee (2) and Luke Simmons — both of who made good use of space.
The North Okes' forwards as usual contested breakdowns in play with enthusiasm and rucked Chiefs off the ball. Billy Searle was on form and converted three of the tries.
The second half saw Chiefs adopt North Okes' tactics to great effect and they scored a further three tries and converted two.
Despite putting a lot of pressure on the Chiefs, North Okes failed to score in the second half.
Launceston U13s 10
Tavistock RFC U13s 42
THE Tavistock fly half and centre combination of Dan Dawes, Joshua Birch and David Milligan performed well to snuff out the Launceston attacks at source.
The forwards charge was led by Alex Boswell, Glen Fuller and Aaron Dobie who worked hard to turn over possession and secure the ball.
Kier Murphy at scrum half had another fine game distributing the ball quickly and switching the direction of the play.
Milligan scored the first of his three tries, collecting the ball with 40 metres to go and two defenders to beat, driving through to score in the corner.
Birch scored quickly after this showing good pace and power.
A good move created an overlap out wide that Mawgan Preece capitalised on to score a well deserved first competitive try.
After the restart Launceston came out firing and caught Tavistock napping and not able to get their hands on the ball.
Despite firm defence the Launceston centre drove through to score. This was followed after the restart by Launceston scoring from a quick tap penalty five yards out.
Tavistock regrouped and scored further tries from Milligan, Dawes and Nick Bennett. In the last minute second row Alex Boswell turned over possession in midfield and broke out — Taylor Kingham, who secured quick ruck ball, enabled Birch to score again.
Tavistock supported the ball carrier well and used the width of the pitch to good effect.
Tavistock player of the match was David Milligan.
North Okes U12s 28
Exeter Chiefs U12s 31
NORTH Okes opened the scoring first from a great break from Daniel Fogerty putting himself over the line having dodged three players.
Chiefs were rattled by North Okes' positive start so they took advantage of their large pack of forwards and used their number eight to power over twice just before half time.
Ben Sharp was outstanding when stepping in at scrum half as did Rhys Palmer, who made some huge tackles out in the centre.
Tom Pierce did a lot of work in the lineouts as did Matt Milton, who marked Chiefs' number eight despite and eight inch height disadvantage.
North Okes battled on and Palmer and Foggy both scored to pull them back in the game. However, a late attack from Chiefs meant North Okes' defence was stretched and their winger went over in the corner for the winning score.

Tavistock forged ahead in the second half, with Finn and Alex playing strongly. Will scored two further tries in the second half. Successful conversions came from Will, Bert and Josh.
The final score was Tavistock 26 Slough 7.

Exeter Chiefs U11s 33
EXETER started quickly and scored their first try after five minutes, which stirred Okehampton into life.
After a strong run Reece Peacock forced his way over for the Okes' first try.
Good handling led to Tom Strawbridge diving over in the corner to draw the teams level.
In the second half Exeter scored two good tries to pull away, but showing great spirit the young Okes pulled level again after Ben Arnold barged over for a try.
Finally the best try was scored by the Okes' Callam Hughes, following a good individual run and beating numerous players to score.
With the final whistle looming and Okehampton pressing hard for the win, Exeter broke away to score the winning try.
This was a good, keenly contested game enjoyed by players and spectators alike.
Okehampton U10s 5
Exeter Chiefs U10s 65
OKEHAMPTON U10s, weakened by injuries and absences, came up against a larger well drilled side who were 10 points up inside the first five minutes causing a few heads to drop.
Strong tackling from Johnny King, Tom Bayley, Finn Fallon -Clark, Patrick Beacom and Daniel Thorne, who hardly missed a tackle all game, kept Okehampton in the game with the final score not reflecting the effort put in. There was good driving by Daniel Thorne, Johnny King and Joe Mawle, which finally weakened the Chiefs' defence for Joe to score a consolation try with a barnstorming run from the half way line.
Exeter Chiefs U9s 5
Okehampton U9s 60
WITH the benefit of a proper marked out pitch and pristine surface, the young Okehampton side ruthlessly put the Chiefs' side to the sword.
The Okes' tries were shared between Leon Horne (4), Corey Holliday(3), Ollie Ardon (2), Adam Wonnacott and Joseph Stratton. Edward McCarthy also capped a superb personal exhibition of tackling with a well deserved score of his own.
The boys passing was much improved and their awareness of space is pleasingly starting to develop.
Exeter Chiefs U9s 15
Okehampton U9s 30
IN the second match of the morning Oke again came out on top, albeit after a much tougher battle.
The Okes became a bit overconfident and their tackling standards slipped as they let Exeter in for three tries.
However, the victory was ultimately a comfortable one as they eventually scored six tries - the prolific Leon Horne (3) and ones for Corey Holliday, Joseph Stratton and a first ever try for the battling Alfie Gillespie.
Tavistock U9s 10
Devonport U9s 15
TAVISTOCK notched two more wins under their belts. They played two very competitive matches against Devonport winning 15-10 and 20-15.
In both matches the boys played well controlled and united games with the backs playing the ball stylishly and with great control from wing to wing with Max Wright making the try.
Tries were also scored by Ben Dunlop, Reuben Noy Scott and Al Spicer.
The whole squad deserve a mention for their fearless and relentless forward drive.
Exeter Chiefs U8s 7 tries
Okehampton U8s 7 tries
DESPITE trailing at half time, Okehampton remained determined with continuous tagging, forcing a turnover of the ball early in the second half. From then on they went from strength to strength, coming back to level the match at seven tries apiece.
It was good to see the team pulling together, as well as some excellent individual play from Imogen Ogborne, Maddie Arden and Nathan Tomkins. Congratulations to Alex on his first try for Oke. Try scorers: Daniel Turney, Alex Farmer, Maddie Arden, Nathan Tomkins (4).
Exeter Chiefs U8s 5 tries
Okehampton U8s 9 tries
OKEHAMPTON faced a fresh team from Exeter Chiefs in their second game. However, it seemed that having already played a match was to their advantage.
They continued where they had left off, with forward play for much of the game. Daniel Turney had a great run through the middle of the Chiefs' defence and although tagged near the line, passed quickly to Kai Middleton who was able to go over for a try.
This great level of support continued throughout the match by everyone and Oke played the best teamwork shown this season. Kai showed a turn of speed to dash over for another try from his half way line and the game finished with a well earned try completed by Will Risdon. Okes try scorers: Nathan Tomkins (2), Daniel Turney (3), Kai Middleton (3) and Will Risdon.
Tavistock U8s 3 tries
Launceston U8s 6 tries
THERE were three well contested games between the sides with Launceston winning the first game (3 tries to 6 tries) and Tavistock taking the last two games (6-2 and 10-4). The games were played in great spirit with both teams showing respect to the referee and each other.
The Tavistock team put their heart into the game and their top try scorer Lochlan Fulton flew through the opposition scoring six tries during the three games. However, one boy doesn't make the team and Luke Lewanski, Ollie Noy Scott, Tom Pearson and Morgan Turnock provided the strong backbone of the team with some great runs and tagging.
Alex Painter, Charlie Donoghue and Macsen Haynes-Parry gave great support to their team- mates. Joe Burbage and Jason Blake were both solid in defence with Jude White's snaking runs causing problems for the opposition.
Special mention to Zac Clifford Flower who was injured in the first minute of the first game but has recovered well and will be back for next week's game. Player of the match goes to James Gregory who led by example and scored three great tries.
