THE Big Oke Abseil, an exciting new experience being offered by Adventure Okehampton, is having a big launch day descent on Saturday April 30.

The abseil descent takes place from Meldon Viaduct — the abseil itself will be more than 100ft!

The freefall abseil will provide unique breathtaking views of the West Okement river as participants descend to the valley floor below.

The stunning viaduct structure forms part of the Granite Way cycle trail. Event organisers recommend travelling to the abseil site by bike or train. Bike hire is available from Adventure Okehampton, based at the Okehampton youth hostel, with free parking. The train station is opposite Adventure Okehampton, and also provides free parking.
