A WEST DEVON couple are celebrating this week after their eggs were named the best in the South West. Tim and Janet White, who keep 10,000 free range hens at the 33-acre Brook Farm near Inwardleigh, scooped the South West Poultry Conference egg competition title at St Mellion recently. Their eggs were judged first and second by senior inspectors at the NFU-run event. The couple won the prize three years in a row previously but did not feature among the awards last year so Janet said they were very pleased to be back on winning form. The Whites have been presented with a certificate and a sculpted cockerel trophy. They are also regular stallholders at Okehampton farmers? market.
