NOW that we are safely into this New Year, may I, through your columns, take this rather belated opportunity to thank all concerned for the marvellous celebrations in Horrabridge.

I have lived in the village all my live (over 30 years) but have rarely enjoyed such a brilliant community atmosphere. The fireworks were magnificent, but it was the people who really made the occasion. I believe that we must thank the millennium committee for the main organisation, but the landlords of the pubs also played their parts — as indeed did everyone there.

It was great fun,let's do it all again next New Year.
