THE heavy rainfall and autumnal leaves are falling onto our roads and footpaths.
I remind landowners who have property with hedges overgrowing footpaths that it is now time to cut our hedges back.
Please will residents keep an eye on the drains outside their houses and check that they are clear of leaves and rubbish?
The councils will use road sweepers but the huge area will benefit from residents helping to prevent big puddles and the formation of potholes.
There are anti-skid signs around Tavistock at the moment, warning drivers that the skid resistence on some of our roundabouts is a little low. We are waiting for them to be resurfaced with new anti-skid treatment.
I am writing this in the hope that Tavistock roads will be kept puddle-free and safer for residents and road users.
Thank you to the many residents whom I have seen helping in this way.
It helps when we work together.
Debo Sellis
County Councillor
