A WEST Devon rector with a passion for photography will have some of his images on show in a Channel Islands exhibition.
The Rev Preb Nick Shutt's photography was recognised by the judges of Archisle: The Jersey Contemporary Photography Programme, who have selected Nick's images for inclusion in the exhibition in St Helier, Jersey, which opens on December 16.
The theme of the competition was 'Islandness' and how this can be interpreted by contemporary photography.
Nick said his three images sought to capture something of what it means to live with this idea of an island – for some a paradise, for others a prison: 'This tension can make some rather inward looking and insular, while others dream of escape beyond the confines of an island to life as yet unseen.
'I am delighted that these images have been chosen for inclusion in the exhibition in Jersey.
'It would be good to be able to get to Jersey to see my work – but funnily enough I may have other calls on my time at the end of December as it is probably the busiest time of the year for any clergy person ‚ and that takes priority in my life.'
Nick is the Rector of West Dartmoor Benefice and a graduate of Plymouth College of Art with a BA in Photography.
