Okehampton Men's A 1

Isca E 2

BOTH hockey teams started well with chances either end but both defenses were more than equal in this tight game.

The first goal came in the 30th minute from an Isca short corner which was first saved by the Okehampton goalkeeper but the Isca forward was on hand for the deflection to take lead.

The second half saw the home team take complete control to score the equaliser their performance deserved with Brett Lawson sweeping the ball into the bottom left corner after a good cross from Chris Searle.

Oke continued to dominate against the third placed side and almost took the lead when Jake Lloyd took a superb shot but it hit the right hand post and went out to touch.

Isca retook the lead putting the ball into the bottom corner although they felt there was a foul on Okehampton captain Ian Miller.

The game swung in Isca's favor when Miller had to off injured and the home side lost their shape.

The home side were indebted to a goal line clearance from Mike Reynolds, an Inspired performance from goalkeeper Pete Sim and some good defending from John Yells, Sam Spry and Hayden Bond to keep the score at 2-1.

This was an unfortunate result for Okehampton as their performance truly deserved better. This week they play Ashmoor B.
