A LOCAL signature dish for the southern fringes of Dartmoor around Yelverton is being sought.
Drake's Dartmoor, which is a group of local businesses in that area, is asking for the help of the local community in their search.
Is there a dish your mother, grandmother or aunt used to cook for you or is there a local speciality cooked in your household that dates back to the 19th or 20th century or possibly as far back as Sir Francis Drake's time?
The group would like to hear of any recipes with the idea of reviving the tradition and making it into something as well known as a Bakewell tart or Cornish pasty, a reason to come to the area to try it.
If the search is not successful, there will be a competition in the autumn to create such a dish.
