Lewdown v Whitchurch
LEWDOWN came out victorious over Whitchurch in this high scoring and closely fought 20-over quarter-final.
Batting first Lewdown lost an early wicket but a quick-fire 42 from A Clements, including some excellent running between the wickets and a determined 51 no from J Skuse helped Lewdown reach 164-3 after their 20 overs. Good knocks also came from G Clements (23) and Ryan Bridgeman (24no).
In response, Whitchurch made a decent start with P Mansfield (39) scoring freely at one end and J Stokes (60) batting well at the other.
Lewdown?s bowlers stuck to their task well with A Vernon and M Jordan bowling well and Dave Ball, bowling with pace and aggression, finishing with fine figures of 2-15 off his 4 overs at the end of the Whitchurch innings, Whitchurch falling 8 runs short at 256-5.
