MEMBERS of the Devon and Exeter Institution enjoyed a recent visit to Tavistock Subscription Library for an informative visit and discussion about the library. John Davies, chairman of the subscription library, welcomed them to the library and Mary Freeman gave a talk about the collection. The group was met off its coach in Tavistock by the library's secretary and local guide, Simon Dell, and given a morning guided walk around Tavistock followed by lunch, a visit to Tavistock Museum and finally a visit to the reading room of the subscription library. Simon Dell said: 'We were delighted to invite the Devon and Exeter Institution members to visit our town and subscription library, and hope to enjoy a reciprocal visit to Exeter this autumn.'
