MEMBERS of Yelverton Ladies' Open Group listened to an inspiring talk about Operation Sunshine at its first meeting of the year. 

Felicity Derry-Thomas spoke movingly of the challenges of helping the rural poor in Africa, which sparked a lively debate among the 24 members and guests present.  Operation Sunshine is the group's charity for this year. 

The next meeting, on Thursday, October 7, will be a talk on CAFOD the Catholic Fund for Overseas Development by Lindsey Carter.
