A NIGHT of music inspired by the work of the Bard will take place in Northlew this weekend.

Inspired by Shakespeare will be an evening of music inspired by the bard and performed by Hatherleigh soprano Vikki Collier alongside soprano Marianne Wright, baritone Barnaby Beer and pianist Gabriel Jones.

'V'adoro pupille' by Handel, 'Blow, blow, thou winter wind' by Thomas Arne and Schubert's 'An Sylvia' will be among the pieces played. The evening will take place on Saturday, June 1 in the music room at Praetors, Higher Gorhuish. Tickets cost £20 to include a buffet supper and wine. All proceeds will support St Thomas of Canterbury Church in Northlew.
