A COLLECTION of stunning Dartmoor paintings by Mark Abdey is on display at the High Moorland Visitor Centre at Princetown. The open spaces and vast skies of the high moor, are the primary source of inspiration. Mark has been painting professionally for the past five years, producing small beautifully rendered watercolours of moorland and coastal scenes. Dartmoor has held a special place in Mark?s heart since a family holiday when he was ten years old. He moved to the region from Berkshire nine years ago. His thirteenth regional exhibition sees a dramatic change of style and medium ? the highly detailed watercolours have been replaced by vigorously painted oils on a far larger scale. The aim is to strip away the detail and reduce the scene to its basic elements. The paintings are on display from 10am to 5pm daily until April 27.
