YEAR four children at Tavistock Primary School enjoyed a week learning about world war two and the impact that it had on the lives of ordinary families.

Teachers built an Anderson shelter in the school, the children made their own evacuation masks and prepared themselves to been sent to new families in the Country.

They learned and sang songs of the time and tried on authentic army uniform. Members of the community also visited the school to talk about their own experiences.
