WILLIAM Shakespeare's Twelfth Night is the choice of the Tavonians for their autumn production at the Wharf, Tavistock, from November 22 to 25 at 7.30pm.
The company have given the opportunity for Plymouth theatre student, Matthew Keast to direct the play.
Matthew, 22, is no newcomer to the company having appeared in Todd last autumn.
The production of Twelfth Night follows a very successful production of Shakespeare's Henry V last year and the company are excited to be tackling Shakespeare again.
Matthew said 'I'm really looking forward to this opportunity.
'We have been exploring the text with this production and I've several innovative ideas which I am hoping to include in this production.'
Matthew's cast includes around half a dozen actors who moved straight into the production from the Theatre Royal Union Street hit show.
Among the cast are David Hodges as Sebastian, his sister Viola played by Michelle Pike — both Tavonians regulars. Olivia is played by Zahra Ahmadi and Orsino by Barrington Sawden.
Steve Large plays Sir Toby Belch and his sidekick Sir Andrew Aguecheek is played by Mark Starr.
Producer Matthew Keast has incorporated a selection of classical, popular and folk styles within the music of the play.
The 'dreamstyle' presentation allows for a mixture of clothing styles, some very colourful.
Tickets £6 (concessions available) from Wharf box office 08122 611166.
