A VALENTINE?S Salsa Evening in Tavistock raised £1,326 for Muscular Dystrophy. The event, organised by Tavistock branch of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, at King?s, saw would-be dancers learning from professional teacher Caroline Chapman from Orchard Studios in Gunnislake. Organiser Tracy Harding said everyone had a fantastic time. The prize draw first prize of a champagne hot air balloon flight was won by Nicola Matthews, of Barnstaple, who has two sons with MD to care for. The money raised will go the branch?s holiday project for young people with the disease. Draw promoter Chris Harding thanked local businesses for their support. Thanks also went to Margaret Dyer and her team for raising £100 at a Bere Alston coffee morning, and to Tavistock Methodist Church?s S:CAPE group, who raised £51 selling Christmas biscuits.
