TAVISTOCK parish church is inviting all those who have been baptized, from 0 years to 100 years, to a family service this coming Sunday afternoon, which will celebrate baptism.

The short service of readings, songs and prayers will be held at St Eustachius' Church at 3pm, and will be followed by tea for all who come. Water will be poured into the font as a reminder of the occasions when young and old have been baptized, and photos may be on display.

'Baptism is the beginning of a journey,' said the priest-in-charge of Tavistock and Gulworthy, the Rev Michael Brierley.

'Just as we celebrate the start of our life-journey on our birthdays, this is a wonderful way to celebrate our Christian birthday.'

The church is especially inviting to the service all those who have been baptized in the last year.

'But everyone is hugely welcome, whether your baptism was last month or last century!' said Mr Brierley.
