North/Okes U12s.........................7 Ivybridge U12s..........................21 THIS was a game with both sides playing excellent rugby. Ivybridge, showing great skill and aggressive in the tackle, scored the opening try after good work by their forwards and some poor tackles on the flank by North/Okes. Within minutes Ivybridge increased their lead through their forwards. This galvanised North/Okes into action. Right on half time brilliant Ivybridge defence prevented North/Okes from going over in the corner. At the start of the second half Ivybridge began to apply pressure, but with Hignett, Lethbridge and Curtis showing excellent defence it was only a stroke of good fortune that allowed Ivybridge to extend their lead. North/Okes gradually came back into the game and a series of attacks near the Ivybridge line led to a penalty. Pete Gillard took a quick tap and dived over for Dan Curtis to convert. Ivybridge, superbly drilled, played excellent rugby, but they were fought all the way by a fast improving North/Okes team. Training Friday, all weather pitch, 6pm.
