Duchy Premier Gunnislake 2 Boscastle 2 AFTER producing a number of good displays coming on as a substitute summer signing Tom Hall was given his first start and the youngster made an impressive full debut. The opening 10 minutes were evenly contested before the visitors made the breakthrough. A defensive header struck a team mate and fell kindly for a Boscastle attacker. Keeper Mark Southcott parried well only for the ball to fall to a second attacker who gleefully scored from close range. Hall ran from deep on to a throughpass and finished confidently to seemingly level matters only for an incorrect flag to deny the goal. Shortly after Gunnislake did equalise. Stuart Wakenshaw whipped in an excellent near post corner that a Boscastle defender glanced in to his own goal. Back came Boscastle and a good long pass dissected the home defence and enabled an attacker to fire home after a great first touch. By half time Gunnislake had again levelled with Steff Kelly producing the assist and younger brother Jarryd the finish. Into the second half and Gunnislake carried the greater threat with Stuart Wakenshaw in particular causing the visitors problems. But both sides produced improved defensive displays in a second period stalemate as once again there was little to choose between these two teams. Cornwall Junior cup action awaits Gunnislake on Saturday home to St Columb Major, 2pm kick off.
