BUSINESS leaders in Tavistock will hear a talk about the impact of the disability access legislation which will come into effect next year at the next meeting of the Chamber of Commerce.
The February meeting of the Tavistock and District Chamber of Commerce will include a talk by Cllr Mrs Judith Williams of the Tavistock Access Group to tell Chamber members about the impact of the Disability Discrimination Act on businesses in the area.
Roger Collins of West Devon Borough Council will also be attending to advise on technical aspects of disability access.
This legislation, which has been forthcoming for some time will come into full effect next year, and will have a substantial effect on many businesses.
The meeting is open to all businesses within Tavistock, regardless of whether or not they are members of the chamber, as the group are anxious to make sure this information is made available to as many people as possible.
Philip Hartnoll, the chairman of the chamber said: ?We do hope as many businesses as possible are able to attend this meeting as this is an important issue which will effect most of the businesses in Tavistock.?
The February meeting of the Tavistock and District Chamber of Commerce is being held at the Bedford Hotel next Monday (February 3) at 7.30pm.
