REFERENCE your correspondent Mrs Sandra Dineley-Jones, and her unfortunate fall on the cobbles in Tavistock town centre recently, I also had a fall, towards the end of last year, on the cobbles close to the Bedford Hotel. 

Fortunately I was uninjured and a very kind passerby helped me up.

I was very annoyed by the comments of Devon County Council, to the effect that these cobbles do not constitute a problem with safety — if they don’t, then why on earth are so many people having falls? 

It won’t be long before someone is really seriously injured, or even killed, and then what will the Devon County Council do?  Still bury their heads in the sand, and keep on talking instead of taking action?
