CURVES gym in Tavistock recently held a coffee morning which raised £250 for Breast Cancer Care and an additional £600 was raised when the gym manager shaved her head for the charity.
During the morning staff sold cakes and coffee and managed to raise £250 in the three hours they were open.
The main event of the day was when manager Claire Morshead ‘braved the shave’ and chopped off all of her locks.
The combined total of £850 raised by Curves will go to Breast Cancer Care — the UK wide charity that provides care, information and support to people affected by breast cancer.
Jasmin Symons of Curves Tavistock said: ‘It was such a lovely day for such a lovely event, we met some new faces and some old faces and had a laugh doing so! We couldn’t of asked for more.’
