THE Courtenay Players have been busy putting the finishing touches on their January production during dress rehearsals earlier this week.

The amateur dramatic society have been busy preparing for 'Humbug', a musical version of the much loved Charles Dickens story 'A Christmas Carol' at the Charter Hall. The story has been adapted for the production by Tony Edwards.

Written in a similar fashion to a pantomime, the story follows Ebenezer Scrooge on his road to redemption with lively music, dance numbers, and a witty script.

The production is the last for long-standing director Roger Partridge, who has a cast of 60 performing in the production from January 9 to 14.

Tickets for the performances, which start at 7.30pm each night, cost £6 for adults and £4 for children to include tea or coffee.

They are available now from the Fairplace Church shop in the Arcade.
