ONE hundred years on and either through your own family history, towns or villages, most people still feel connected to the First World War.

From 2014 to 2018, across the world, nations, communities and individuals of all ages will come together to mark, commemorate and remember the lives of those who lived, fought and died in the First World War.

And here at the Times, the editorial staff are compiling stories, letters or even inserts from diaries, which they will put together for a special section of the paper, marking the outbreak of the conflict.

If anyone has something connected with their family during 1914 to 1918 they wish to share, or stories passed down of their town and village during this time, then please get in contact.

The First World War had a huge impact on all, it reached out and touched almost everyone's life in some way or other, and almost all family histories will include someone who took part in the war.

If you have something you wish to share then email Lindsay Turpin at [email protected]">[email protected] or call 01822 613660.
