LOOKING for something different this year?

Now's the ideal time to try Morris Dancing.

Local team Lodestone Border Morris are holding an open evening at The Tavy Club in King Street, Tavistock on Thursday, January 5, from 8pm until 10pm.

The side is keen to recruit men and women over 16 years of age who are eager to learn this exciting form of traditional dance.

Practice runs from October to April and then the side dances out at pubs, festivals and other events throughout the summer.

Squire Dave Wood said:

'It's a great way of seeing the country and keeping old English traditions alive!'

The side will be dancing and leading the Wassail at Buckland Abbey on Saturday, January 14 from 7pm until 9pm.

Musicians of ability are also welcome.
