MORE than 170 people visited Hotel Endsleigh's garden when it opened to the public in aid of the RNLI at the end of last month, raising more than £750 for the charity. Gareth Huxtable, the chairman of the Tavistock branch of the RNLI, said the day had been a 'great success'. 'Apart from a few spots of rain at the beginning and end of the day, the weather was ideal and the team at the hotel were really supportive, making sure coffee and cold drinks were always on hand for the visitors,' he said. Particular praise went to the gardening staff, who acted as guides throughout the day. Endsleigh Nurseries at Milton Abbot also donated a percentage of their sales to the charity on the day, raising a further £150. Thanks were extended to hotel owner Ms Alex Polizzi and the nurseries and everyone who helped at or supported the event. The next open day will be on June 17.
