TWO appearances on the Jools Holland show and record breaking album sales have made the globe-trotting Hot Club of Cowtown hot stuff this year ? and the band will be playing at the Jubilee Hall at Chagford on June 25.

Since the release of ?Continental Stomp? in October 2003, it has been something of a roller coaster ride for this unique band who have previously toured with the Mavericks.

After setting its home town of Austin, Texas, alight with its hot string jazz for the 21st Century, the band is embarking on its first solo UK tour.

The Hot Club doesn?t so much re-create as re-invent quintessentially American music with a post-modern energy that makes it as current as the latest pop hit.

?Most of what we do is improvised at the moment we play it, said violinist Elana Fremerman. ?We?ve never played those songs the same way before and we never really do them the same way again.?
