Tavistock Ladies 2 Feniton 2 TAVISTOCK started with ten players, but it did not show, with excellent football played by the team. The first 15 minutes Feniton were playing a very defensive game, trying to keep Kate Atkinson and Kirsty Jones from scoring. When Feniton managed to break, a poor error from Tavistock?s keeper let Feniton score their first goal. Tavistock stayed strong and Feniton could not break through. Julie O?Keefe and Louise Evans fought well in midfield. Both players, carrying injuries, sent balls up front for the attacking force of Robynne Honey and Kate Anderson, only to be beaten by the keeper. Tavistock lost Evans in the first half, but still continued to attack every ball. The second half started well with Tavistock controlling the game. Feniton tried to take the ball down the right wing. But each time Louise Galway defended her position well and won the ball off Feniton, sending it up to Robynne Honey who was on fire. She took the ball past Feniton?s defence and beat the keeper with a well-placed shot. Tavistock now put the pressure on and kept Feniton on their toes. Another attack by Honey saw her take on the keeper again and place the ball in the back of the net. Tavistock stayed strong but frustration started to show and a mistake by Tavistock gave Feniton a penalty with minutes to go, which they converted to their second goal. Tavistock were unlucky not to win after an excellent game. Players of the match: Kirsty Jones and Louise Galway.
