WHATEVER your taste in blues? music, whether rural pre-war or contemporary style, Eddie Martin is an expert in them all. That is one of the reasons why he is known as ?the hottest blues musician to come out of Britain since the 1960s.? This unique performer, who is as adept on the guitar as he is on the harmonica, will be appearing at The Wharf, Tavistock on Saturday 18th February at 8pm. What makes him even more unusual is his amazing skill at writing blues songs ? he is the composer of almost 100 published, original numbers. Eddie Martin grew up in London in the 1960s when he started playing acoustic guitar at the age of 16. His early influences were Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie and later, he was introduced to Texas blues. This was the inspiration for the formation of one of the finest three-piece bands around, when he teamed up with the Texas Blues Kings. Since he turned professional in 1996, Eddie has gained recognition in both Europe and the USA. He has also been nominated several times as best guitarist, in the UK British Blues awards.
