YELVERTON supporters of Children's Hospice South West last week met charity runner John Reynolds, as he stopped off at Yelverton Post Office on his Champion for Children run from Saltash to Radstock in Somerset.

John was left unable to walk after a severe illness six years ago, but his determination has seen him not only get back on his feet, but run 140 miles non-stop to raise money for Children's Hospice South West.

While receiving treatment for his illness, John shared a ward with children with life-limiting conditions, which is what motivated him to learn to walk again and raise money for the charity.

The Yelverton supporters encouraged him along as he headed up onto Dartmoor.
