ON Saturday Meavy Oak Fair hosted its annual Horseshoe run.

The seven mile race took competitors around Burrator reservoir and neighbouring tors. 151 runners turned out from all over Devon and even as far as Southampton to take on the challenge.

First man over the line was Tom Gill in 42 minutes and 18 seconds and the first lady was Bonny Collingborn in 49 minutes and 18 seconds.

The race was dedicated to Richard Orchard who died in 2009. Richard was a regular competitor and ran his first Horseshoe race when he was 12.
