SEVEN neighbours from Horrabridge celebrated last Sunday (March 4) when their postcode was drawn as a People’s Postcode Lottery’s Street Prize winner.

The lucky Phoenix Close, PL20 7SY, residents won an incredible £30,000 each — meaning £210,000 had landed in the street altogether.

Lyn Render, 60, was over the moon with the win. She said: ‘Our great grandson was just born a few weeks ago in Australia so we will be booking flights to meet him and see family there as soon as the money lands in the bank!

‘I originally signed up because I missed out on the big Postcode Millions prize while I was living at my old address. I didn’t want to miss out again so it is fantastic that I have now won!’

Lyn’s sister-in-law, who lives just across the road, was also a winner. Lynda Grinstead, 65, said: ‘This is just going to be such a help. I live on my pension, so this is going to make things much more comfortable for me. I’m going to take my daughter for a trip to New York too — we’ve always wanted to go.’

Jack Parris, 65, was joined by his wife Sandra when he was surprised with the £30,000 cheque. They are already planning visiting family in South Africa and are delighted that they’ll be able to help out their three children and eight grandchildren who all live locally too.

Ian Bartle was also among those celebrating and was delighted to have won with his neighbours in the close-knit community.

The three other winners weren’t available to receive their cheques but their prizes will be paid directly into their bank accounts.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson presented the winners with their cheques. He said: ‘I’m absolutely delighted for all of the winners and hope they enjoy spending their prize. It’s fantastic to see so many neighbours winning together – it’s what People’s Postcode Lottery is all about.’

To date, £272.8-million has been raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery for more than 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
