IT saddens me greatly that I can be walking the streets of Tavistock with people who look perfectly normal and civilised, but who are prepared to support and take part in the torturing and killing of our wildlife through the barbaric pastime of hunting.

I hope for the day when the law prevents such barbarism in the same way that it prevents other inhuman and inhumane acts that some minorities choose to engage in.

I support any activity by anyone, as long as it causes no harm to any other human, animal, or the environment. There is no way that hunting satisfies any of these criteria.

Beyond all of these arguments I am always distressed to see young people being drawn into this lust for blood. What future do they have when they see the killing of innocent creatures as a matter of enjoyment?
