THE Burrator Inn at Dousland hosted a lunch recently to mark long service awards to two fundraising members of the Dousland and Meavy Royal British Legion.

They are some of the people who make sure there is a box of poppies and collecting tin to be found without fail, year in, year out, at all the usual places — and, of course, that the cash donated gets back to the legion.

Rosemary Weir has chalked up 35 years of voluntary service with the RBL, and Mike Dobson 30 years.

The legion is available to help anybody who has given or is still giving military service, and their dependants.
