PLANS to build 33 homes on the former Tavistock Hockey Club site have been deferred for a site visit following concerns about traffic. Members of West Devon Borough Council's planning committee will be looking at the proposal by Bishop Acklam Developments Ltd for a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes including 52 car parking spaces and a play area at the site off Grenville Drive. Although County Highways has raised no objection to the scheme, Cllr Mandy Govier voiced concerns about the junction of Grenville Drive and Plymouth Road which she said was 'dodgy to say the least'. She said a site visit by councillors would give other consultees like Tavistock Town Council and South West Water a chance to put foward their comments.
