FUN filled and innovative activities are being offered to West Devon youngsters from April 7 to 18 at Tavistock College. The Holiday Club programme runs activities throughout each school holiday for children and youngsters aged 8 to 14-years old. During the Easter holiday programme a variety of sport activities will be on offer. These include rounders, hockey, basketball, a Plymouth Argyle trip, table tennis, fishing, indoor climbing, golf, and for the first time ever at Tavistock College a Nintendo Wii Sports Day. Sports centre manager Barry Mountstevens said new ideas have been planned to try and make the programme 'diverse and fun-filled'. He said: 'The most exciting and anticipated introduction to the programme is going to be the Nintendo Wii Sports Day. Children will be able to participate in different sporting games, playing against one another via one of the college's projection screen. 'We have introduced activities working in partnership with local clubs such as a visit to Tavistock Golf Club. Tavistock Cricket club will be bringing their coaches along to the college and running the cricket day, and Plymouth hockey development officer Jamie Oxley will be taking charge of the hockey session. 'We also have Mandi Wall, a local dance instructor, coming in to put on a freestyle dance session, along with the more traditional sports of basketball, netball and football on offer.' All activities are subject to numbers and must be pre-booked.
