THE next monthly meeting of Okehampton U3A takes place next week.

The group will meet to enjoy a talk on local historian Paul Rendell at the meeting on Thursday, May 31 from 2.30pm in the Ockment Centre.

Paul has an in-depth knowledge of Dartmoor's geographical and social changes throughout history, and regularly gives talks to local groups.

Last year saw the publication of his book 'Okehampton Through Time', a fascinating selection of more than 180 photographs that document many of the changes in Okehampton over the last century.

Okehampton U3A celebrated its tenth anniversary in March, and now has 140 members.

Non-members are welcome to join the event as a guest of the U3A.
