THIS week volunteers across West Devon are busy celebrating Volunteers' Week with a European flavour.

As this year is the European Year of Volunteering, the Twinning Associations in Okehampton and Tavistock are joining the West Devon Community and Voluntary Services for a week of celebrations at the volunteer centres in both towns, with displays of their activities from Craon and Pontivy in France and Celle in Germany.

West Devon CVS and volunteer centres are making the most of the special week to highlight the benefits of volunteering, both to the people who get involved and to the countless groups an organisations that receive their help.

Volunteers are the life blood of local groups and community organisations. The demand for this help is constant and increasing.
