MORE than 200 ducks battled it out at the annual Bere Ferrers Duck Race on Saturday as the village experienced the highest tide for 20 years. The swirling incoming tide made for a battle royal which in the end was won by a duck owned by Stephen Grills, with Kate Mugridge second and Bena Studden third. All those who helped at the event have been praised for making it such a success and all profits will go to the village fund.
