Okehampton Netball League THERE were three first division matches last week. Hi-Line were lucky enough to be inside in the warmth for their match against Phoenix. Hi-Line showed they were going to be a force to be reckoned with this season by winning 69-11. Pom: Hi-Line, Lindsay Merrett and Mel Peek. Phoenix, Emily Gawel. Hatherleigh and Magpies were the outside division 1 game, which ended just after half time as the Hatherleigh GA Jo Down injured her ankle and had to be taken away by ambulance. This was not the result that either team wanted, but resulted in a win for Magpies 30-15. Pom: Magpies, Tina Friend. Hatherleigh, Janet Chapman. The final 1st division match was the late fixture in the sports hall between two of the most established teams in the league, Falcons and Speedwells. Falcons again showed they did not want to lose their title this year and overcame their opponents 65-41. Pom: Falcons, Sue Searle. Speedwells, Carol Chapman. The second division match was between Red Devils and Ladybirds. Red Devils had a convincing win scoring 28 goals to 11. Pom: Red Devils, Tina Adams and Tracey Webber. Ladybirds, Lyn Murphy. In division 3 there was a close match between Falcons Jrs and Lifton Ladies, which resulted in a win for Falcons Jrs 30-20. Pom: Falcons Jrs Rebecca Chapman. Lifton Ladies, Tori Bareham.
