CHILDREN of the 60s are being urged to dig out their flares and fabbest beads to relive those heady days of peace and love.

The National Trust is running its Swinging 60s Fête this Saturday at Castle Drogo, at Drewsteignton near Chagford.

'This is a great opportunity to really embarrass your children,' said property manager Peter Jennings.

The fête will be opened at 11am and music will feature as a large part of the day with live bands and a 1960s DJ. There will also be morris dancers, majorettes, a beer tent, strawberries and cream, sideshows, clowns and stilt walkers, classic cars, animals, crafts and croquet.

The fête is at Castle Drogo on Saturday June 24, starting at 11am. Entry is £2.60, £1.30 for children.
