AFTER a resounding win the previous week, Tavistock men?s 1st XI hockey team were ready for another hard league match.
The team were quickly into their flowing network style of play and were soon in the lead with well taken goals from Nick Andrews and Joe Hess.
The middle of the field was held firmly under the control of Matthew Way and John Barratt, who selflessly fed the halves and wings with some excellent balls to increase the lead ? one from a fine run down the wing by Tom Honey, finishing with a well aimed cross to waiting captain Joe Hess.
The strong defence managed to keep the St Austell attack at bay for most of the game but a well taken reverse stick shot from a short corner saw the home side open their score.
In the second half Tavistock continued to dominate with further goals from Matthew Way (2), John Barratt and a third for Joe Hess.

This Saturday, final league game of the season at home (Kelly College Astro) 4.30pm against Okehampton. Spectators welcome.
