MARY Tavy could soon have a new sundial and patio area near the Coronation Hall.
The idea was suggested as a millennium project two years ago and is now nearer fruition following the approval of a grant of £1,200 by West Devon Borough Council. This will supplement the funds raised by the local Community Composting Scheme which are to go towards the project.
The playing field trust's recreation fields improvements committee has been leading the organisation of the project, but Mary Tavy Parish Council's clerk Richard Potter said there had been delays due to problems in finding designs within budget.
Mary Tavy is also participating in a joint project with Brentor to provide engraved stones to mark the boundaries between the parishes.
