RESIDENTS in Tavistock and the surrounding villages are being given the opportunity to influence the shape and activities within the town at a community forum.

Tavistock and Villages Development Forum (TaVi) will be hosting the event on Tuesday, May 10, discussing two topics of importance to the town.

The first, in association with the Senior Council for Devon (Tavistock branch), is the problem of being an elderly person living in Tavistock and surrounding parishes. Visitors are encouraged to share ideas on how to improve the situation of elderly people living in West Devon.

This topic will be followed by a discussion of the outcomes from the recent public enquiry into the core strategy and the implications for the future of the town and surrounding parishes.

It is hoped that town and borough councillors and representatives of other local organisations will be present to join in the discussions.

The open forum will take place at the Wharf at 2pm.
