DOOR-TO-DOOR collections in aid of Save the Children are being carried out this week in the Tavistock area — with collections also taking place at Safeway today (Thursday) and tomorrow.
Organisers point out that £1 could help buy fuel to carry crucial health supplies to a clinic in Africa and £10 could teach a group of children in Latin America how to educate their friends who cannot afford to go to school. Last year almost £3,000 was raised in the area.
