TAVISTOCK students taking part in a business game raised £120 for children in hospital.

Sixth form students from Tavistock College's GNVQ advanced business course had to take part in a business venture which involved planning, teamwork, problem solving, finding practical solutions and all the myriad factors involved in making business decisions, said a school spokesman.

'Although financial gain was not the prime aim, the outcome was a project which involved a charity collection that realised over £120,' he said. 'This sum has now been used to buy Playstation games for use by children on Woodcock and Wild Goose Ward in Derriford Hospital.'

Joanne James, play assistant on Woodcock Ward, said they were grateful to the students for their kindness.

Students involved were Dominic Goode, Rachel Hine, Nick Mier, Simon Pearce, Lesley Pengelly, Kevin Pethick, Gemma Squance and Laura Tidder.
