A WOMAN from Okehampton has raised almost £300 for the British Heart Foundation ? an amount which has been matched as part of the Barclays Community Investment programme. Pauline Taylor, a Barclays employee, swam one and a half miles with 1,000 other people from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier. Everyone who took part in the event donned red hats to represent the nation?s heart charity. Although the sea was cold, Pauline said: ?It was a really good atmosphere and everyone was really chatty. This is something I have never done before but I will hopefully do it next year.? Maureen Dilley, spokeswoman for the BHF, thanked Pauline for her donation to the nation?s heart charity. BHF is dedicated to saving lives everyday from pioneering research caring for patients and their families. The charity provides vital information to help people care for their heart.
