FOR the first time ever the Tavistock Branch of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) has organised a moor walk with a difference at the end of the month.

Usually the walks organised by the Tavistock BHF take place in September, have two routes and are circular.

However this year, the group is breaking tradition and has organised the walk for Saturday, April 28 — it's not circular and is a length of 15km.

The usual walk leaders Simon Dell and Rosemary and Graham Clarke will be out to support all walkers.

The route is not for the faint-hearted and will be quite a challenge, starting at 10.30am from Fourwinds, Rundlestone, near Princetown and finishing at High Down car park, Lydford.

Although primarily raising funds for the BHF, organisers also want the event to be fun.

There will be stops to admire the views and Dartmoor antiquities and lifts back to Fourwinds or Tavistock can be arranged should they be necessary.

Participants can either be sponsored or can make a donation to the foundation.

This will be the Tavistock branch's 21st event and organisers are hoping anyone who enjoys walking on Dartmoor will join them.

Sponsor forms, registration slips and t-shirts are available from the organiser, Kris Budge by calling 01822 615338 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
