SWIM school at Parklands is starting up again this Monday (September 21) — and at a reduced cost.

Registered charity, Fusion Lifestyle, together with West Devon Borough Council, made the announcement today that the cost of swimming will be reduced now that a broader programme of activities has been introduced to the centre.

In addition to Swim School returning, the centres are planning on re-introducing bookings from clubs and private hirers. This will allow more swimmers to come together at a time when keeping active and healthy is more important than ever before.

All centres will continue to operate in line with government guidelines and those planning to visit are required to book and pay online, minimising contact required at the centre and allowing for the track and trace process to be implemented. Gym users will be asked to arrive ready to work out, and swimmers with their costumes under their clothes, ready to go. These new measures, combined with meticulous cleaning routines, are designed to keep customers safe and offer complete confidence to use the facilities when they return to the centres.

Anthony Cawley, director of operations at Fusion Lifestyle, said: ’We’d like to take this opportunity to thank those who have come back to our centres already for their support. We hope to have all leisure centres open again in the near future and are working closely with our partners at South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council to plan this and keep all our visitors safe. We’d also like to remind those who still have their memberships frozen that they can continue to access our online offering and Les Mills on demand — an amazing 110,000 people have taken part in these classes across the country already.’

Cllr Tony Leech, lead member for well-being, for West Devon Borough Council, added: ’I am delighted to see the price reduction in the swim charges as well. This will really help more people get back to the exercise that they love and help us, and Fusion, increase the footfall at our centres.’
