A PARENT of one of the students at Okehampton College has tested positive for coronavirus, it has been confirmed today.

The college on its Facebook page said that the two children had been isolating at home since Wednesday, September 16 as soon as symptoms were noticed.

‘We are very grateful that the parent has acted so responsibly, and so quickly, following the Government’s guidance we have shared,’ it said.

‘We send the parent our warmest wishes for a speedy recovery. We have contacted Public Health England who have confirmed that there is no action necessary to be taken by the college: education can continue as normal and students can attend as normal. The children are being tested and we will be guided by the results of those tests.

‘Thank you for your cooperation.’
